- Bande Dessinée (Comic Strip Festival) - Angoulême (Charente) The third largest comic festival in the world, held over four days at the end of January. A spectacular event drawing international artists and fans from across the globe. 1 hour 15 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs bdangouleme.com
- Truffle Festival - Sarlat (Dordogne) Third week of January. A dedicated celebration of the Périgord Black Truffle with market stalls, demonstrations and tastings. 1 hour 10 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs
- La Fête de la Truffe - Sorges (Dordogne) Last Sunday in January. Home to the Truffle Museum, Sorges draws large crowds to this much-loved festival, featuring demonstrations, cooking competitions, and a giant banquet. 30 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs

- Horse Racing & Events - Arnac-Pompadour (Corrèze), France's National Stud holds horse racing and equestrian events every month from February through October. 1 hour from Beaux Souvenirs.

- Fest de L'Oie (Goose Festival) - Sarlat-la-Canéda (Dordogne) Two days in early March with geese parading through the town, cookery demonstrations and a fine excuse to celebrate all things goose. 1 hour 10 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs (sarlat-tourisme.com).

- Châteaux en Fête - Throughout the Dordogne, the last two weeks of April, over 100 Dordogne châteaux open their doors for special festivities and tours. Various locations, many within 30-60 minutes of Beaux Souvenirs (chateauxenfete.com).

- Fête de la Fraise - Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (Corrèze) Second Sunday in May, with strawberries taking centre stage - including the making of an 8-foot strawberry tart! 2 hours 13 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs
- Fête des Fraises et des Fleurs - Vergt (Dordogne) Third weekend in May. The Dordogne's strawberry capital hosts this strawberry-and-flower festival, drawing up to 15,000 visitors. 1 hour 13 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs
- Fête des Fromages Fermier - Rocamadour (Lot) Whit Sunday cheese festival in the breathtaking hilltop village of Rocamadour. 2 hours 15 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Les Floralies - Saint-Jean-de-Côle (Dordogne) Second weekend in May. A spectacular floral festival in one of France's most beautiful villages, attracting over 10,000 visitors. Just 25 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs - highly recommended!

- Jazz Pourpre en Périgord - Bergerac (Dordogne) June 11-14, 2026, featuring jazz concerts across the town. 1 hour 35 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Festival International des Arts du Mime et du Geste (MIMOS) - Périgueux (Dordogne) June 30 - July 4 2026. Founded in 1983 in honour of mime artist Marcel Marceau, this festival celebrates nonverbal performance including mime, puppetry, clowning and hip-hop. 55 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs (odyssee-perigueux.fr)
July
- Félibrée - Abjat-sur-Bandiat (Dordogne) July 3-5 2026. Now in its 105th year, this three-day festival celebrating Occitan language and culture is one of the most authentic events in the Dordogne calendar. 18 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs
- Tour de France - Périgueux Stage (Dordogne), France's iconic bike race stops overnight in Périgueux on July 11 2026. A rare chance to experience the Tour de France atmosphere up close. 55 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Bastille Day - Throughout France, July 14th. France's national holiday is marked with village fêtes, communal gatherings, music and spectacular fireworks displays - including celebrations right here in Mialet and the surrounding villages.
- Cognac Blues Festival - Cognac (Charente) Six days in early July. Running since the 1990s and featuring top blues artists from around the world, this is one of the great music festivals of southwest France. 1 hour 46 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs (bluespassions.com).
- Fête de l'Escargot (Snail Festival) - La Coquille (Dordogne) Second weekend of July. A wonderfully eccentric celebration of the humble snail in our nearest town. 10 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Festival des Jeux du Théâtre - Sarlat (Dordogne) Last two weeks of July. Now in its 73rd year, with over 18 shows featuring prominent actors and directors against the backdrop of medieval Sarlat. 1 hour 46 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs (festival-theatre-sarlat.com).

The Vézère Festival - Brive area (Corrèze) July 16-19 2026. A celebration of classical music in all its forms across a variety of venues. 1 hour 36 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs (festival-vezere.com)
Summer Musical in Bergerac - Bergerac and surrounding area (Dordogne), first two weeks of August. Live music and traditional dance performed against the backdrop of historic sites and monuments. 1 hour 35 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs

October
- Fête de la Châtaigne (Chestnut Festival) - Dournazac (Haute-Vienne) Last weekend in October. A wonderful local celebration with chestnut tastings, products and demonstrations in a village that takes its chestnuts very seriously. 12 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Rue des Métiers d'Art - Nontron (Dordogne) A showcase bringing together the finest rural artisans in a lovely setting - the unmissable event of the year for lovers of crafts and handmade work. 26 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
November
- Fête de la Pomme (Apple Fair) - Sainte-Anne-Saint-Priest (Haute-Vienne) 5 novembre. A charming rural fair with everything apple - from tastings and produce to local traditions. 1 hour 25 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Gourmet Book Festival - Périgueux (Dordogne) November 13-15 2026. Authors promote their cookbooks through food tastings, local produce and cookery demonstrations - a treat for food lovers. 52 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- La Foire aux Dindons (Turkey Festival) - Varaignes (Dordogne) November 11th. Turkeys running through the village streets, bourru (young wine) and chestnut celebrations make this one of the most entertainingly eccentric events in the local calendar. 43 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Beaujolais Nouveau Day - Throughout France, the third Thursday in November. The arrival of the first bottled wine of the year is marked in restaurants and bars across the region. Various locations
December
- Christmas Markets - Limoges (Haute-Vienne) and Périgueux (Dordogne) Throughout December. Traditional Christmas markets with crafts, gifts, food and a festive atmosphere in two of the region's most handsome cities. 45-55 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.
- Foire aux Chapons (Capon Festival) - Blond (Haute-Vienne) December 13th. More than 10,000 visitors descend on the village to watch the Brotherhood procession and the thoroughly entertaining spectacle of capon racing. 1 hour 4 minutes from Beaux Souvenirs.

There's rarely a week between April and October when something isn't happening within easy reach of Beaux Souvenirs — and even the quieter winter months have their moments, from truffle banquets in January to capon racing in December.
